I couldn't agree more my friend, however on a Minecraft server you need to work fast and get those diamonds before someone else does, so there's no time for exploring with the hope of finding some diamonds. I think the metaphor here is "You snooze, you lose"

Good for my friend, however many people don't have access to that command. Plus if you can do this then by the powers of divine deduction my conclusion is that this video/tutorial wasn't aimed at you.
